Reunited — it went back to its owner or their family.
Marie Racine bought an 1880 Bible from a hospital auxiliary thrift store in Campbell River, British Columbia. About four hundred pages in she found a folded letter dated 1894, written by a London physician, Dr. Henry Harris, to someone called Irene — a frank account of his own illness and weakness.
With help from Reddit users and genealogy websites, she traced Harris's great-granddaughter. Racine refused any payment and sent the Bible and the letter home as a gift.
