Tucked inside Poems of Robert Burns

Reunited — it went back to its owner or their family.

Catriona Nicol bought a book of Robert Burns’s poetry from the Cairn Centre charity shop in Kirkcaldy, Fife, as a birthday present for her mother. Inside was a photograph of Jacky and Mary McKinlay, dated August 2002. Nicol appealed on Facebook, and the picture made its way to the couple’s great-niece, Emma Rutherford. The family were glad to have it back, though they could not work out what event it showed or where it was taken.
