A Toronto reader who posts as relentlesslykind on Reddit bought a secondhand copy of The Fellowship of the Ring that had once circulated through the Toronto Public Library. Inside was a note from a mother to her son, Adrian, urging him to read at his own pace, a paragraph or a page at a time, because what mattered was doing it. The post drew more than 30,000 upvotes, with one commenter calling it an unintentional poem. The finder offered to return the note if Adrian came forward.
