A Devon library’s wall of lost bookmarks

By the Editors · As reported by BBC News (via Yahoo News), 2025

FoundSouth Molton, Devon, United Kingdom

Staff at South Molton Library in Devon gathered the bookmarks left behind in returned books into a Museum of Lost Bookmarks: about fifty items pinned to a green board. They include proper bookmarks along with postcards, tickets, receipts, shopping lists, photographs, children’s drawings and notes on torn paper. The library says it tries to reunite items with their owners and puts the unclaimed ones on display, and expects the board to need more space.
